Crystal Palace Park Fireworks
5th November 2009
The Fireworks Event for 2009 continues a very fine tradition of events that first took place in this park on July 12th 1865, with a competition between British Firework makers. The Event was a great success, attracting 20,000 spectators, and regular shows were staged here up until 1936, when the Crystal Palace was destroyed by fire.
It is estimated that 2,000 displays have been held on the site over a period of seventy years, attracting over 30 million visitors from all parts of the world. Some say that Crystal Palace is the home of the Fireworks Displays in this country and like last year we celebrate Guy Fawkes Night with two sensational fireworks displays.
Join us at 7pm for the first show, specifically aimed at Children, with colourful fireworks and less noisy bangs for the sensative ears! Then this is followed at 8pm by our main display! so....
